Angelika Barnes Coaching
for Personal and Professional Growth
A hearty welcome to ABCoaching!
My name is Angelika and I love bringing out the BEST in people!
I arrived on NZ shores in November '96 with a big backpack while on my adventurous solo world travel tour.....and... never left :-)
I am a natural enthusiast with a vocation to inspire and empower my fellow human beings, so they can get a taste for the ZEST in LIFE!
A lot of us are stuck in limiting beliefs and carry old imprints and thinking patterns that no longer serve us when we are striving for a BETTER life.
Helping you become a more confident and fulfilled person in business and life is the crux of my coaching work. My clients' desire is often to finally be able to STAND UP & SPEAK UP for themselves.
Self-Expression goes hand in hand with increasing self-awareness, self-esteem and emotional intelligence. Each of us needs to value and own our feelings, our words and our actions.
My desire is to help bring out the best version of YOU.
My Coaching Story
My coaching story already started in sports as a teenager and carried through to my professional life as Trainer and Coach in the Banking Academy in my native country, Germany, delivering their national Communication & Sales training courses (www.genoakademie.de).
In New Zealand I had the pleasure of expanding across all three economic sectors: Public (Education), Private (Tourism, Finance) and the Voluntary Sector, where I held operational and people management positions with a focus on empowerment.
I am also a NZ and Australia accredited Life Coach and an accomplished Toastmaster / Past President for local Club, “Madhatters”.
My life-long passion and involvement in Performing Arts has been a fitting scene to study communication and non-verbal communication, cultivate stage presence and to perfect presentation skills. I still get a real kick in partaking in the Art of Improvisational Theatre.
Experiential Learning is one of the main ingredients of my workshops. They are 'hands-on' and practical, because I believe in this saying: ‘I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.’
In my spare time I have explored interests such as Human Psychology, Psychodrama, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Improv Theatre, Non Violent Communication as well as Emotional and Cultural Intelligence.
I am a bit of a globetrotter and actually got stranded in beautiful NZ on my solo world travels as a backpacker in 1996. I enjoy the outdoors on foot and by bike as well as camping with my lovely husband and good friends.
